Mateiko, who won the Kenya Trials in the 10,000 but was only 11th in Paris, has been excellent at the half-marathon. The 26-year old has broken 60 7 times and broken 59 6 times.
“[He has] a huge, huge, future ahead of him. I’m putting all my money in Mateiko as the future,” Kipchoge said. “He’s the man to watch, actually, on the road,” Eliud Kipchoge said.
