I thought they were giving up on trying to do anything editorial and were just going to charge people a ton of money to retransmit the internatioal DL feed, but I guess that's not true. But why in the world would anyone take a job there considering they have shown so many people the door?
Why didn't they just keep the likes of Selby, Mull, Mack, etc.?
Let's hope they don't hire any announcers and just use the international feed - not that I'll be watching on flotrack. I'll be watching for free on youtube via a VPN.
All they need to do is get better servers so that live streams don't constantly freeze when you try to watch them.
I'm happy to pay exorbitant amounts (30 USD a month has to be the most expensive streaming platform on Earth), but I expect the site to actually work for that amount.
NFL/MLB/NBA caneramen make $40K-$50K per year. No one can live off that little ina major city. They're reich already from Mom and Dad
So you make 40-50K as an NFL cameraman in a major city working six hours (set up and tear down) about 12 days a year? I'm thinking that maybe isn't their only source of income.
Not that it has literally anything to do with the thread topic.
It's likely a cost saving move. These new hires are probably a lot cheaper than actually giving raises to your legacy employees. Pretty common in industries that have trouble turning a profit.
Texas A&M track & field head coach Pat Henry announced the addition of former A&M national champion Olivia Ekponé to his staff as an athletic assistant on Monday.

I did a thread about this over a year ago. Yeah, it’s HORRENDOUS.

It currently doesn't.
Never had a problem with any of their streams, subscribed for several years. I have had more trouble with Peacock than Flotrack.
Fan Boi sites, USATF, Penn Relays, NYRR are all volunteer. Stock Brokers on weekdays. Even the CEO, CFO, COO, directors. etc. Max Sigel is rare and gets paid and is the only exception.

Of all the streaming services I subscribe to, it's the only one that constantly freezes. So no, the problem is not on my end.
And given the ratio of downvotes for your comment, I'm guessing I'm not the only one who experiences this.

Cory Mull was not good for the sport.
go back to 2022 and check flotrack and Milesplits Instagram page. it was 99% reels content. Why? Because it was the only form of content that could be monetized at the time. And the reels weren’t good. It was just podcast clips. They had no sort of posts about any real “news” of the sport. People on here complain about flotrack stinking but once they decide to make a change, those same people come on here crying about change. trust me when I say this, Cory mull will not be missed. Milesplit socials have seen improvements content wise. flotrack is doing some rankings content (albeit it’s just copy paste algorithm nonsense from tfrrs) and now they are making an effort to capitalize on the diamond league acquisition.
you can’t tell me that if Mull, Gordon, Selby, were still around during the Diamond League acquisition people would be jumping for joy. if Flo buying the broadcast rights is going to be worth it, they need new faces to lead the charge
