I thought it was pretty good, but I didn't have any expectations on what they would focus on.
I feel bad for Henrick. He desperately wants to be competitive again, and I don't know if I see it happening. His poor body seems kind of beat up. The middle brother didn't seem to care as much, but Henrick made me sad. His excitement over Jacob's success is endearing but it really made it clear how much all of it means to him.
Jacob's wife Elisabeth is exactly what that guy needs. I loved it when they were talking on the phone and he said he had to go so he could get to his press conference, and she shot back "Don't say anything stupid!" Lol. I love this for him!
It seems like they live close, so I wondered why the wives didn't hang out and help each other while their husbands were away. They made a point to focus on the discontent over the long absences, and I was just left wondering why the 3 of them didn't pull together.
Compared to the other crap on television, this was pretty good. Not going to win a grammy or anything, but a nice show for fans.
I'm not sure who the intended audience was, cause it sure wasn't the people who watch this sport closely. It feels like it was made for the people who mainly know their influencer wives so they could get a look at who their runner husbands are and the issues their lifestyle brings.
Team Ingebrigtsen was a much more interesting and well produced project.
I thought not showing the Monaco race was kinda bizarre. I thought that was pretty important to the story, showing that he had shaken off his late start to his season and was back to being the best in the world heading into the Olympics.
And it was pretty clear they could only show like 15-20 seconds of footage from each Olympic race because of contractual rights, which was a bummer since that was the climax of the season. Also feel like they could have had some basic explanations as to why its so difficult to lead a race from the front (Wind resistance, pacing, etc..), I doubt any casual viewers understood why he lost the Olympic final
Overall it was cool to see some of the behind the scenes footage of an athletes life, but the storytelling was a bit all over the place.
The previous seasons (Team Ingebrigsten) were better. Gert made the show.
Team INgebrigtsen was great. Loved the dynamic between Gjert and the boys. I can't speak to real life, but what they caught on camera seemed within the realm of what could be considered healthy.
too bad they had the awful moments to go along with that.
Why oh why would you film so much spouse/kid scenes if you're only going to have six thirty minute episodes? There's just not enough meat in this show. They didn't even film live Henrik/Filip reactions to Jakob losing 1500/winning 5000. At least now I understand why Filip/Henrik keep running - they all live in freakin mansions with private gyms, don't know how that works but clearly finances will never be an issue for those guys.

Rojo, if you're reading this, can you look up the income of the brothers. I remember you finding that website or registry or whatever it was that showed what Jakob and Karsten were making.
It's surprising Filip and Henrik are living baller lifestyles for what they have done in the sport.

In Norway, they are extremely famous. All the brothers have multiple sponsorships. They have all been European Champions, which counts for quite a lot.

i think Rojo put out that Jakob had made something like 1 million flat based on US currency. That was prize money, sponsors, etc. though maybe that was a net after paying out expenses. Interested to know what the brothers make in comparison. Norway is only a population of 5 mil, so sponsorships must be somewhat limited compared to US. Though if they are like a Michael Jordan or Kardashian level of fame and influence, that could still go a long way.
