9-5 is not a lot of working hours. If you have children or other responsibilities I can understand that it could be difficult but otherwise it is pretty easy to fit in a run with that much free time.
In my residency program, I alternate between 4 weeks of inpatient and 1 week of outpatient. During inpatient blocks, I work 6 days per week and I typically either work 7am-5pm or 7am-7pm depending on the day. Outpatient weeks are M-F 9-5. Those weeks of 9-5 are amazing and I get to run as much as I want while catching up on sleep and getting to socialize with friends I don't see during my inpatient blocks.
You can run 100 miles a week with less than 2 hours of running a day. How long do you spend on your phone, in front of a TV, or drinking alcohol per day?
Go to bed early. Wake up early. Up at 6. Out the door by 6:30. TWO HOURS to get all your running in. Shower. Go to work. If you have a remote job, zero excuses. Off at 5. Out the door by 5:15. Double. Drive home if you have a commute. Make/eat dinner. Chill for an hour or two. In bed by 9. Repeat.
I don’t have set hours so I work 8:30ish to 6ish. I’m also in office everyday. My kids are also in high school now, so it’s a bit easier than it used to be.
Run right after work if you don't have a physically demanding job. Or stop at a trail or park on the way home. Though it gets tricky with daylight savings in about a month, but with a 9:00 start time you can easily run before work.
I hate running in the morning though and much prefer running after work. It sucks in the colder months when morning is the only time you can have some light running outdoors.

Buy a headlamp and a safety vest. If you ever have plan on having kids you’ll never run in daylight again so may as well get used to it now

M-F 9-5 is an awesome schedule for running.
This. But throw in 24 hour calls and post call work. If I could get regular sleep, my running would improve from terrible to hobby jogger levels.
9-5 is easy if you have no other responsibilities (e.g. you're 22 and single). Jog a few miles at 7:30 and then have your main workout / run at 5:30-6.
