Nike loves chicago
I thought pacing was against the rules

Chicago always has pacers.
This feels too fast. This is faster than the pace she recently ran the 20K champs in.
Wojo paced that one chick years ago at Chicago. What was her name? He wrote an article about it. Centro should have no problems if wojo could do it ;)

Yeah. Centro said this summer he thought he could run under 2:20 which he obviously can with decent training.
Hard to blame him for doing this because money talks.

Definitely, she has not shown in shorter distances that would translate that she could run in the 2:18s.

hes actually around peak age for his aerobic engine.
yeah hes not as fast as he once was and probably isnt taking care of his health the same way but he probably has some motivation going into this and sounds like others are counting on him at least a little

I doubt if he’s being paid. There are hundreds of guys that could pace her at 5:15 per mile. If he is, where is the money coming from?

You're right. Pro runners with Nike Contracts don't earn anything for making appearances at Major Races.

Presumably, an appearance would mean competing and not running 5:15 miles.
Nike is writing a wonderful marketing story with this. Selfless gold medal winning man paces talented woman/mom/real estate agent/“second chance at running” woman to American record.
Centro gets to run a marathon without any pressure to lay it on the line and caps his career as a nice guy/mensch that supports women’s sports.
Maybe he can jog the first 26 miles at 8:00 pace and sprint the last quarter mile.

This comment solidity’s why Hocker’s 1500 Gold is worth 3 times more than Centro’s !!
