I'm on the side of the teenager who is an legal adult as he had the ball as the other grown man took it out of his hands.

I'd need a lot of work to be done on that video to slow it down, isolate the important parts, blow it up for a clearer view, etc.

As I'm on the side of the guy who needed to be filming and while yelling.

He's the true hero who sacrificed his chance to actually watch the HR live and get the ball so he could sound like a retard in a video

if that ball is really worth 4.5m then I say every man/boy for himself. the kid in the miami jersey showed no urgency. they don't coach them up like they used to. I'd be embarrassed as a parent.

This reminds me of a pile in football where possession is just given to whichever team comes out with the ball, even if it wasn't who technically first recovered the fumble.

After review, it has been determined that the man in the black shirt had the ball, established firm possession after the scramble and pile up to earn the rightful ownership of the baseball. The kid in the red jersey may have gotten it if he wasn't so phone happy with a lack of assertiveness and determination. He blew it.

First, the name of the player. It's Shohei Ohtani, not Shoha Ohtani.

Next, "violently." Really? Violently? That looked violent? Granted there was some force involved but it didn't look "violent."

Lastly, "worth $4.5 million." Unless I missed something, how do we know it is worth $4.5 million? I saw something that bidding was going to open at around $500K, which I believe is even too much. It's a fukking BASEBALL, for chrissakes!

The video itself is pretty bad. There's a moron yelling "Oh, my god! Oh my god, Oh..." Also, you really can't tell what is going on in the video. Yeah, the kid didn't have any urgency but if he really did have it in his possession the guy that ended up with it should not have taken it. I've seen videos of people ripping the ball out of the hands of little kids. This isn't as bad but still not good.

Sports memorabilia is such a trash market. I think it would make for a great case study for some HS or college class, a way to really teach kids about what something is "worth."
