Wishing her the best of luck at Mammothfest, trail racing I think is definitely something that does take dedicated time to build up to, but so far shes been doing good considering. You always want instant results, but a lot of the time I do think it takes people quite awhile of being in top ten before the top three is within their reach.
Maybe, but Allie was a world junior mountain running champ and Mt Marathon winner, so it's not as if she is completely new to trail running. And Gregory has been running on the track recently as well, making the 5000m final at the trials.
Either way, it's great to see the infusion of talent in mountain and trail running.
I'm more impressed with Lauren Gregory's 3rd place finish. Almost 8 minutes faster than Allie.
Does it have to be an either/or? Looks like 2 good results by 2 good runners. Gregory a little faster at the mile. Similar 3k/5k PBs. Ostrander faster @ 10k.
Both of them made track finals this summer so it's not like trails have been their main focus. Both can get better.
