Couldn’t even break 3:30 in the DL final and then embarrasses himself at Copenhagen. He’s clearly done. Time to come back to papi or call it a career
Why would he need to / want to break 3:30 in the DL final? He won the race. Every time he does run fast that's all you Jakob haters are claiming, times doesn't matter. As soon as he wins a tactical race (3:30 is fast af lol, what a time we are living in), then he ran a slow time and is "finished". You guys are probably a fun bunch at parties. He beat every notable 1500m contender in a stacked field (only missing out Kerr who skipped, which is not on Jakob).
HM went as expected, no way he'd hang with Kiplimo and the gang unprepared. I believed he would go out with the pack, but DNF when he blew up, so surprised that he jogged in at all. He could maybe have pushed close to 60 min sharp with more sensible pacing, but would't break the hour without a few sessions of specialized prep and also more rest. Still the way from 60 to sub 58 is long, and would probably require a whole season or two of more specialized training for longer distances. The 5/10 guys did way better on HM, so their longer sessions are obviously important for the muscular adaption to longer distance.
You're thinking of the wrong final and not the one that counts.
At this point we all know your opinion that the only race that counts each year is the global OG/WC final, unless Jakob wins it. Then (2021), it's just "doping" and not deserved.

He's finished. He should tuck into that Christmas pudding without restraint in a couple of months, and make eating fatty foods his new year's resolution.
He pushed to the lead at 10k, looked really spent and just stopped. Then about 20 seconds later takes off again. He did this at least 3 times from the live coverage shown.
His whole behavior was just odd. Why the constantly stopping, then jumping back in when a group of runners reaches him?
All of this after HE was involved in requesting the pacers to pace at 57:00 pace.
He was testing himself. He joined spontaneously for fun, completely unprepared two days after the DL final, and didn't really have any ambition for an optimal PR. He likely just wanted to get a feeling for the HM world record pace. Now that he has a gauge of what it takes to run with the top guys, he probably has a good idea on how we wants to change is training when moving up in distances.

It's absurd to suggest the race that "counts" amongst these runners is a DL final and not an Olympic final. None of them would agree.
