Hello, I had a follow-up scan yesterday for a partial and incomplete stress fracture of the sacral ala suffered on July 5th. I had a scan on August 14th (where I learned about the fracture) where the line was clearly visible.
Yesterday, my orthopedic surgeon told me that healing had begun. That the line was less and less visible!!! My orthopedic surgeon allowed me to gradually resume sports.
I was happy, but I have a few questions: why this summer, when I was maybe 2-3 weeks into the injury, was the pain less present when putting weight on my foot than on some days recently, when the fracture is healing? Why are there also days when I walk without discomfort and others when I feel discomfort? I don't understand the pain cycle. Is it normal that even though the fracture is still healing, I sometimes feel pain when walking? I dont see so much différence between now and August, for exemple. Is it normal to not be able to run or change direction after 9 weeks?
The healing process has good days and bad days. But I just want to make sure this is all normal. What was the process like when you regained full use of your leg?
