The proponents of "small government" propose a new and destined to become bloated federal department to do the job of the OMB and the HR wings of the existing federal departments. Considering how Musk's track record at X and Tesla, this is destined to be an absolute s**t show resulting in a decade or more of legal challenges and individual lawsuits over contract issues.
Another reason to vote against the self-proclaimed stable genius!
Ah, yes, removing anyone with institutional knowledge and actual expertise and installing a bunch of incompetent sycophants to positions of power, what could possibly go wrong?
Not a right-wing fan of Trump or Musk, but I give the guy credit for figuring out how to build, scale, and profit from electric cars. Still the only one who has been able to do that...
Also, I think he did exactly what he intended to do with Twitter. I think that was the plan all along. Run it into the ground.
Twitter is falling apart under Musk. Advertising revenue has tanked - most of the ads on there are for scammy apps and terrible quality drop-shipped products. I never see ads from recognizable companies on there.

He's not profitable without government subsidies and tax credits.

He didn't figure out how to do any of that with Tesla. He just happened to buy it at the right time.
Also, literally telling advertisers to "f off" and then suing them when they stop advertising is a weird way of running something into the ground.
Liberals have spewed endless tall tales of doom for Twitter/X since Elon took over. All of that has proven to be nonsense, as is always the case with those people. X is more popular than ever.
The amount of bloat and waste among federal bureaucracies makes 2021 Twitter look like a lean operation. Here's hoping Elon will X the cr@p out of DC.
We should thank the Trump campaign for providing Dems with more advertising fodder. Musk is a goldmine of well publicized drug use, extramarital affairs, child neglect, cosmetic surgeries, strange statements about how to live your life, and other generally wacky stuff. As Tim Walz would say...

Every other car company got the same EV subsidies, he is the one who actually made a profitable car.

When he "bought" Tesla it was basically 4 guys and a schematic diagram for a battery that they didn't end up using. Everything else was built from scratch under his leadership.
Frankly, increased government efficiency is the last thing this government needs. A more efficient IRS? A more efficient Justice Department headed by a highly political Attorney General? A more efficient Defense Department traversing the planet in search of more forever wars? A more efficient Treasury Department finding more ways to debase the domestic currency? A more efficient White House staff increasing the functionality of the animatronic presidency? It's hard to think of a part of the government that would not be improved by increased inefficiency.
Trump, as usual, is out of his depth on this (and don't get me started on Harris). Musk isn't serious.
The left's turn on Elon is a bit wild. He runs multiple billion dollar companies. He was integral in the formation and sale of PayPal. He is successfully launching and landing rockets with SpaceX.
He is the first person in the US to successfully challenge the Big 3 American car companies with Tesla, and I think the market cap is larger than those 3 combined (last time I checked).
Yes, he's blunt and maybe a little arrogant, but he's one of the few that really back it up.
I'm not sure how I feel about this role, but there certainly is a lot of waste in the US government. I completely understand why half the country hates Trump, but I don't get why they hate Elon except for the fact the he associates with Trump.

Those companies run in spite of Elon, not because of him. Especially SpaceX -- giving Elon credit for the work of the engineers is hilarious. Elon has provided capital and not much else.
