If these are truly the meet locations, then this track league gets less serious by the minute.
With all the investment money to burn, Michael Johnson should have just reconstituted the Golden Four: Zurich, Oslo, Brussels and Berlin. Four venues with serious track and field pedigree.
(Given the disappointing attendance in Brussels this year, it could be switched out for London, Paris or a US city).
(Also, how about thinking outside the box with four different surfaces: indoor, outdoor, cross-country and road).

You are right, but this league is based on American/Jamaican sprinting. Americans don't like Diamond League due travel, plus it has events not for sprinters. Hence North American bias now in venue selection.
Challenge for league will be marketing; drawing TV viewers and fans to the venues. We shall see.
Hats off to Michael Johnson for putting together the Grand Slam. With it’s attractive financial incentives GST has signed a handful of major stars. However, I’m very skeptical as to how successful GST will be in the long run - especially after seeing the meet locations and timing (April & May dates) for 2025. Europe is the center for the sport - as evidenced by great meets/attendance in Paris, Budapest, London, Oslo, etc. Europeans care about the sport. Aside from Olympic years - except for the diehards - Americans could care less about track. I don’t see GST broadcasts attracting very large numbers nor many people actually going to watch the meets in person. I’m old enough to remember televised track meets (CBS?) and “pro” track (with pacing lights) in the late ‘60’s early 70’s. They were novel ideas but didn’t last more than a year or two. Perhaps I’m wrong - time will tell!
