Olympic gold is the best prize. WC gold is really about as good just not remembered.

Too bad Yared is so thin or Kerr would have gotten a second straight bronze. Jakob bounced back to take GOLD in the 5k while Kerr hid out, sulked, and then had his arse handed to him in Zurich.

In one situation, you get gold and silver; in the other, you get two silvers.

Jakob: 3 gold medals, 2 silvers.

Josh Kerr: 1 gold medal, 1 silver.

No one cares about the 5000m. 1500 is the blue-ribbon event. 1 1500m gold is worth more than 5 5000m golds. And there would still be more to come for Kerr, while everyone knows Jakob would never win another championship final in the 1500m with his lack of speed.

Sorry but it’s all about the medals because records can and will be broken but medals can’t be taken away.

Jakob is going for the records as he knows he’s best at following those lights but can’t actually deliver in a race with no pacers and lights (over the 1500m).

Yes he’s great at the 5k and that’s where his strength now lies. He should probably move up to the 10k soon

Well... Of all athletes running the 1500m these days, he is still the one with most/ best medal count and time. Not to mention all the wins in the diamond league. Until someone passes him on these parameters, he is the best 1500m runner the last 20 years and counting.
