I think it wasn’t good for the sport because it made the 400 hurdles look weak. Warholm is the WR holder and he has run 46 seconds multiple times. He made himself look slow by running 10.4 high. This is a high school time. This guy is a sprinter for goodness sake. Is it amazing a vaulter ran 10.3? Yes. This pole vault event is a kangaroo event and not many people have the opportunity to do it. Meanwhile , running something like 46 seconds for 400 meters , some collegiate athletes have a hard time hitting that without barriers. Warholm should have come when he was in 10.2 shape. This exposed him as a “C” level sprinter and is not a good look for this event.
