I live 10 minutes from Sandnes and have been thinking that this should have been solved as an internal family thing, but considering the most recent information and how long it has taken for this to come out publicly (though there has been rumours), it seems to me that the siblings has been patient for a very long time and that Gjert refuses to acknowledge that he has done anything wrong, and thus forcing their hand. If he had taken responsibility for his actions and retired as a coach instead of claiming his innocence this would have ended a lot better for all parties.

This is just sad, bottom line, and there is no excuses for what Gjert has put these kids through.

If what you’ve listed was the worst of it, it hardly sounds that bad. Whether it is abuse or hard disciplining within the realm of normal depends on whether that is all there was to him or this occasional behavior was offset by plenty of affectionate and caring times.
