- I feel that we are about to fall behind in anti-doping work, because we lack a basis in law for several aspects of what we do. It is important that it now gains momentum, and that we arrive at a solution that can last over time.
- If you cannot carry out doping controls, then in the worst case it can ensure that you are not allowed to participate.
Lederen i Antidoping Norge mener at Norge henger langt bak i antidopingarbeidet. Han frykter at internasjonale konkurranser her til lands kan havne i fare.
Yes - we know that from the AIU stats that Norway's testing of their world championship athletes is rather infrequent. Haven't seen the stats from the Olympics yet, but I doubt that that is different.

The head of Antidoping fears that international competitions in his country could end up in danger.
Up until recently Norway is mostly irrelevant on T&F podiums, and then all of a sudden Ingebrigtsens are up front in every elite race and Karsten Warholm looks shredded while ripping his singlet off acting like Hulk Hogan after setting records.
Honestly, they should count their lucky stars Interpol hasn't paid any of their training camps a visit. Norway's elites are about as clean as a meth lab.

Where are you getting "all of a sudden"? Jakob has been a prodigy since youth. He ran an 8k race at 10 years old well under 6 minute pace. He's run sub-4 at 16. He's done 27:54 10k at 19. The progression has been there.
Are you telling me he's been doping since age 10? GTFO.

They have that high 49 second female 400 runner, and a 400 guy who came from nowhere last year. Oh and the triathletes, the 2.05 marathon runner, the skiiers, cyclists, speed skaters and the decathlete.

Lol! 27:54!? There are hundreds of U20 runners that have run faster. That is not special and certainly not indicative of someone capable of running 7:17. As for the mile, wonderboy is currently 46 U18 1500 list. Yep, 46 runners have run faster and none of them were close to 7:17.
Here are the anti-doping chief's three concerns for the future:
Concerns about the future testing of athletes younger than 18. In 2022, a "short-term solution" came into place. It ensured that parental consent must be obtained in order to be able to test minor top athletes. Solheim believes that athletes under the age of 18 themselves must be able to give consent. ADNO wants a legal authority to ensure this.
For six years, Norway has operated with a transitional arrangement regarding the sharing of special personal and health information in connection with doping control. ADNO says that Norway may be denied participation in top sport, and refused to hold international sports events, if the transitional arrangement is abolished and a legal basis that ensures a permanent solution is not in place.
The third point concerns the sharing of information from the customs and police authorities. Today, there is a risk that athletes will be caught in customs, without ADNO receiving that information. Athletes or support personnel can therefore be linked to offenses for breaching the Medicines Act and the Criminal Code's provisions on doping without there being any consequences in sport. ADNO therefore wants a legal basis which ensures that information relating to doping offenses must be shared with them.
The South Korea Olympics are to start to morrow, the first winter games after Martin Johnsrud Sundby (NOR, xc-skiier) in the summer of 2016 was convicted of improper use of asthma medicine. It laun…
Nothing really out of order here to be honest. It's basically ADNO pushing on a legislative process that is already ongoing, in order to make it speed up.
