First time I’ve actually seen splits from a Hocker track Workout. Previous videos would just show clips of the workout but no splits. Hope this continues from here on out. Looked smooth.
Eh. Jakob probably did a workout with 2.5-3x the volume at somewhere around 60-62 pace per 400m, building superior aerobic fitness (what actually matters 1500>up) and not wrecking himself in training (he always mentions how he never goes near max effort in any traning reps, leaving those efforts for race day).
That’s cool. Which one of them just won the Olympic 1500?
A nice little victory, pulled to a fast time thanks to the courageous effort of the greatest & most consistent mid distance runner of all time who will set records at multiple distances that will be forever out of his reach. Its hard to ALAWAYS beat inferior comp, and we know a broken clock is right twice a day (ie Centro/Hocker).

Jakobs great but he’s lost the last three global championships in his favorite event despite being the world leader each time, that is a noticeable chink in his armor. He could run 3:25 next year and I still wouldn’t be confident in him wining worlds vs the field

Might be. But if JI stays healthy I could see him win in a long kick race or he gets a bit stronger and breaks the field with 200 to go.
In Paris at 850 a little gap formed. I really feel like JI's plan was not very far from beeing successful.
Exciting times! Golden years of MD and LD running :-)

That's a heck of a solid workout. What's he got coming up that he's peaking for?
Hocker is 12th in the 1500 DL standings, with the last Q race on Thursday in Zurich, and the DL final just over a week later in Brussels. I think they take 13 to the final, so Hocker needs a decent run to Q.
