Why?
This looks so weird. And is super expensive. What is the purpose of this shoe??

Gimic shoes will always be about one thing: making money. They will get sells initially from people thinking it looks so weird that they have to try it. Plus there is also a chance it takes off like On.
Would someone tell me how this happened? We were the vanguard of running in this country. Alphafly Mk2 was THE supershoe to own. Then the other guy came out with a triple plated shoe.
Were we scared? Hell, no. Because we hit back with a little thing called the Alphafly Mk3 Tur3o. That’s three carbon plates plus an Air Zoom unit. For maximal propulsion.
But then you know what happened next? Shut up, I’m telling you what happened—these other guys went to FOUR plates. Now we’re standing around with our dicks in our hands, selling our basic supershoes with three plates and an air zoom unit. Suddenly - we’re the chumps.
So listen up - we’re going to five plates. Plus an air zoom unit.
Avoid such shoes they can injure you badly.
Jimmy loves these shoes! Jimmy runs fast! Jimmy's gunna get some new PRs!!!
So I've actually run in these exact shoes as a wear tester several months ago.
Here's what I can tell you about the experience:
- It looks even crazier when you are holding it than it does in the photos. seriously alien-like.
-You feel like you are running on a bouncy castle with the massive stack height and lever.
-The version I wore (which could have been improved upon) was HEAVY (about 50%heavier than Alphafly v1) like 350+ grams if I recall. The weight is EXTREMELY noticeable if you are used to lightweight shoes or racing shoes at all.
-You can hit fairly fast speeds but stability is so low that if the terrain is even a little but uneven, you will slow down to to adjust. Opened a mile at sub 5 min pace but by the end had slowed due to some cracks in the sidewalk etc.
-I had some fit issues that made it uncomfortable to run in. After a while I could not wear it at all due to blisters and I could see it injuring people if they think they can just go run 20 miles in it without any acclimation.
-It's extremely loud to run in (made Alphalfly v1 which are notoriously loud sound silent by comparison. It was like a galloping stallion and if they get wet this is amplified 2x) and squeak like a rusty door hinge opening.
-Overall, the engineering of it is potentially on to something other than being "illegal" for actual competitive use, if the issues I found were fixed and it was made WAY lighter I could see it being a PR buster tool because I nearly broke a mile PR without the fitness actually being there and the above issues as stated.

They are for guys like Flagpole to wear when using the bathroom on an airplane! 🤠
