With a pacer and pacing lights will be interesting to see the difference in times and placings 1st - 4th. What’s everyone’s predictions? Would have to give the edge to Jakob for the win and possibly a mid 3:26. He’s the master of time trialing and his 3:28 solo at the Olympics should not be underrated.

With Kerr present, it certainly gets a bit tasty, doesn't it? A pacemaker through in 2'44 with lights might lead to something extremely special.

It favors Jakob as I'm sure the pace set will be aggressive and he will handle it better than the rest. Good opportunity for all the medalists to PB, though.
I think Jakob wins but lets be grateful we are finally getting races like this outside of championships. This could be the equivalent of el guerrouj vs lagat in that brussels 3:26.

He said in a recent interview that his goal with the 1500m is to keeping chipping away a few 10ths of a second and he will eventually get the WR. Not saying the WR won’t be possible in this race but it might be slightly out of his reach just now. I hope I’m proved wrong!

If Kerr could handle Jakobs 54.5-56.5-55.5 in Paris he should be able to handle even paced 55.5's and still kick w Jakob. But if Hocker and or Nuguse are there too, then very easily could be the same result as olympic finals. Kerr and Jakob are not going to easily out kick Hocker if he's there. Nor Nuguse.

Question I’ve had for a while, how are paces for these races picked? I’d imagine Jakob usually gets to dictate it to some degree, however that works, but what about in a field like this? 3 medalists and 3:27 guys and a 3:26 guy. Is it chosen for them? Does someone have more influence than someone else?
