I've made this quote the quote of the day. My only concern is I can't find the actual quote on tv. The quote seems almost too good to be true and Kenyan journalists are known to embellish now and then.

Has anyone on here actually heard Faith say that. I listened to 3 different clips on Citizen tv and didn't hear it. The article is quoting from Kenyan TV supposedly. Here is the Kenyan TV station.

This is really cool. It's easy for Tsegay to get confused about such things in the moment, but it sounds like she woke up and smelled the coffee when she watched the video of herself clearly impeding Kipyegon. I am glad they are friends now. This is exactly what good parents teach their kids... "Apologize to each other and become friends". Bitter rivalries entertain fans, but they are bad for the soul and send a terrible message to young athletes. Stories like this are more important than the medals.

So, about that yellow card......which track official(s) should held accountable for that?

The one (and only) thing I can give Kara Goucher credit for is taking a hard stance on the injustice to Kipyegon.

But it was so obviously wrong, it leaves the question of what motivated the issuance of the 'yellow card'.

I think it was a classic case of the ref’s seeing the reaction vs the initial contact. Happens all the time, then they corrected it in post. That’s the important part.

The point was made in the broadcast that the Yellow Card followed Kipyegon through the rest of the rounds, and through the Olympics (i.e other races), I believe? If it was determined to be issued in error, why was Kipyegon subject to sanction for any subsequent contact?
