Very brave of her - I guess you can argue she should have pulled out (like others did) but this is what they have trained for. The next Olympics is 4 years. They may never get selected again.
But… what a disaster the women’s GB marathon team had. Charlotte Purdue rolled her ankle on her last long run (I actually spotted her hobbling down my high street a few days before the marathon).
Calli H-Thackeray pulled out half way. Still no update as to why. Very silent on social media. Which is her perogative I guess but every other athlete has updated what happened if they DNF.
The subbed in athlete was the only one that actually finished.
