Context matters. Grant Fisher ran with courage, heart, and smarts, ran to his full capabilities and potential, and came home with a bronze with gold almost in reach.
Sha’Carri did not. She had no business losing this race and especially not going 10.87.
Shacrri was a huge favorite, her odds implied 80%+ chance of winning. Based on her slow reaction time, she choked. She got off on a plea agreement for "marijuana," yet continued her brash and disrespectful antics.
Does the rest of the world hold such contempt for ShaCarri, or is it just us?
Shacarri was the favorite, Grant was not. If Jakob gets silver it’ll be a disappointment, but if Hocker gets bronze he’ll be a God. I can give many more examples, but I don’t think it’s that hard to understand right? not to be rude

Grant was going up agains the best of the best, including the world record holder. ShaCarri was the favorite and she got destroyed.
ShaCarri may have been the American favorite but others outside of the USA have a different take on it. ShaCarri never put up the fastest time in the heats or the semi-final. In the final she was soundly beaten by the better athlete.
Do you know the US history of event specialization in track and field?
The US men have struggled mightily beyond Salazar coached athletes in the 10K. The US has dominated in the 100. It is expected that the US excels in the 100, but not expected in the 10K.
Don’t try to turn this into a race thing, geez. Some of you are pathetic.
It also doesnt hurt that Richardson has significant maturity and professionalism issues, neither of which Fisher struggles with.
I like ShaCarri but the media overhypes her a little too much.
But it's double edged. To generate more interest in track and field from the general public, we REALLY DO need superstars. And with Mu out and with Sydney doin her own thang, it's really up to Lyles and Richardson to help generate the most interest.
So when she doesn't live up to all of the hype that's been manufactured by the MSM, it's a huge let down to most ppl.
Tbh I don't think it was as bad of a race as ppl are making it seem. Even if she has a decent blocks start, it wasn't like she was going to blow everyone away. Alfred ran like a f-ing machine. At best, with a better start ShaCarri might've been able to edge out Alfred at the line. But there was no way she was gonna blow everyone away and live up to all of the hype.

Maybe it’s an issue of Sha’Carri dealing with the pressure of living up to that hype

Yep, definitely couldn’t handle being the favorite. Crumbled under the pressure. Not the heart of a champion. Champions rise to the occasion. She’ll never be an Olympic champion now, this was her shot and she blew it.
Sha'carri is so freaking awesome and mature over the last few years. She is an ebony goddess on par with Venus Willliams and Oprah for the title of most amazing black women of all time. I'm glad she didnt let you LRC incels ruin her.

What does history have to do with Richardson or Fisher? They both needed to go out this weekend and face the best in the world in their respective events. Nothing that Billy Mills or Evelyn Ashford did before them made a difference in them needing to face the best in the world today. Richardson got second and Fisher got third. Richardson did better.

I bet u not would disrespect Goddess Sha'Carri to she face. I bet u not would. Her is more stronger then u is.
American men and women are not usually very good at distance running, so just making a final is seen as something heroic. American men and women are dominant at sprinting, so even a silver medal for Richardson seems like a bit of a disappointment in some people's eyes. Basically, people expected Sha'Carri to be great (just like they expected Simone Biles and USA Basketball to dominate) and had much lower expectations for Grant. It's recognition of Sha'Carri's greatness!
