Some interesting commetns we came acros when Hassan announced she's doing 3 events in Paris.
"My biggest goal is to complete the event, rather than the medal. I don't want to makemyself crazy by focusing on gold... the medals will come later. It's good to take the risk and challenge yourself as a human being because lisfe will always challenge you... I have been challenging myself from my youth."
I'm as big a Hassan's fan as you can get, but if she really wants to push the limit. She should focus on getting gold first, unless she's confident in getting at least 2 golds this way which made her triple in Tokyo all that impressive in the first place.
I mean she just ran a 2:13 last year. She has what it takes to win in Paris. It would be a shame if she goes home with just a bronze or a silver, or even empty-handed because she wasted her energy in the 5k and 10k.

Yeah, I don't know what she is trying to prove running 3 events. Her results this year have not been stellar.
Entered in WC XC then pulled out Finished 4th in Tokyo Won 5000 at Portland Track Festival, beating Cranny and finished 4th in the 1500 7th in the 5000 at Pre, behind 6 Ethiopians 5th in Hengelo in the 1500 then pulled out of the 10000 the next day Entered in the 1500 and 5000 in LA Sunset Tour and pulled out of both
We will see, but I won’t actually be that surprised to see her pull out of an event in Paris.
Hassan will give her 5000m/10000m. For Marathon it will completely depend how long the race go. But there is high chance she will DNF or won't medal because she will go all out in 5000m and 10000m

Some of you people are so funny. Yet when Sydney focuses on the one event she has decided on, she must double or triple. Now an athlete who has decided to triple, must focus... SMDH

Guess what? There are a lot of different posters on the LRC message boards. It's quite likely that any comments you read regarding Sydney were made by other people than those commenting on this thread.
Thing is, she doesn't care what other people think she 'should' do. I'm Dutch so I probably catch a bit more news about her, and she basically said 'I already have Olympic medals, so I can take some chances now'. She just really does not care too much if she gets gold. And we should celebrate athletes actually wanting to RACE many races.

If everyone thought like her, sports would be pretty boring.

So rather than try to make history by pulling off a triple no one's done in the modern era, she should sticking to the safe play that everyone else has done before... because it would be less boring?
