If DEI is such a great thing, why is the phrase "DEI hire" viewed as an insult?

I don’t think it is an insult but I do think it odd to call every non-straight white male employed a DEI hire. But you do you I guess.

Because they are reminded that it is the current version of the 1960s affirmative action hire. Many benefitted from it, many didn't need it but the majority did. It was a quota to help out the less qualified. Kamala Harris was a DEI hire and Demented Joe even admitted it.

can someone explain to me how "DEI hire" fits when (a) you ran for the president job on your own (b) you are vice president of the whole country (c) you were a city DA and a state AG and (d) importantly, you are getting the gig because the default white dude is senile.

also, being a howard graduate is the opposite of DEI. a black person is not getting into howard on affirmative action. people are stupid.

the basic idea is to pretend like any liberal minority getting picked for this couldn't possibly have earned it on their own, while pretending marjorie or boebert are qualified for congress, or pretending like tim scott's football scholarship background makes him more serious while howard+UC law school+DA+AG+VP=DEI.

it's also a contradictory argument in that their sales pitch to minorities is forget government and affirmative action, just work hard and we will accept you.......except if you run for office we will say you are just a DEI hire, which is just current-eventsese for affirmative action.

if the GOP was sincere at all about being about minority opportunity at some point one would have to cross into having earned it, and with her resume, she should be well past it.

Meanwhile everyone knows Kamala is only looking at white men for her VP. Any other choice would be career suicide. Will her pick be a DEI hire?

Calling someone a DEI hire is the same as calling someone a legacy admission to USC and any Ivy League. You’re telling them they aren’t good enough and they only got the offer because of diversity in the case of DEI and their parent’s money in the case of legacy admissions. You’re essentially saying, “you don’t belong here.”

Because the people who use the term don't view DEI as a good think and mean it as an insult.

Note the Leftist only ever talks about credentialism, never results (also note that even with credentialism, the DEI builds upon itself, i.e. AG because was a DEI DA, DA because was DEI law student, etc.).

Further, not how casually it lies "just work hard and we will accept you.......except if you run for office we will say you are just a DEI hire" (nevermind maybe the greatest living political thinker Sowell (black, not a DEI hire), or one of the best presidential candidates of the 21st century Carson (black, not a DEI hire), or, if the leftist can't be impartial, a bright mind Booker (black, not a DEI hire)).

Normal people would be wise to adopt this same strategy if they hope to survive-- Leftists win BECAUSE they lie.

Yes, if someone is selected on the basis of "diversity"-- like Kamala was, as admitted by the man who selected her-- they don't belong.

This is all well and good, but given your tribe's push to force preferred minority groups into positions of influence on the very basis of their skin color, it all amounts to inane babble. I always laugh when you lot get ticked about your preferred minority groups not doing well on things like the SAT so you all organize to have the tests banned. What people have rightly observed is that all you people care about is preferred minority group supremacism, by hook or by crook.

They consider it an insult because it sheds light on them and the real reason they were hired

They want to live in a fantasy world in which they believe they were truly deserving of the job

So when they are reminded that the only reason they got the job was because of some diversity inclusion quota, and not meritocracy, it hurts their feelings.

And a white man will get her more votes. It doesn’t matter how qualified another black or woman may be….white AmeriKKKa would never vote for two blacks or two women. Therefore she knows her only chance of winning is to diversify(white man) the ticket. DEI hire…………but you won’t hear any complaints. An all white ticket is never a problem. Yet, right wingers will look you in the eye and say we are playing on a level playing field and racism is a thing of the past.

Because everyone knows you got the DA and AG jobs by lying on your back for some old married dude, yet they still build you up as if you are something amazing because you fit into a DEI category.
