You are probably one of the few to actually get the pun.
Since that song came out many years ago, most people are not familiar with the lyrics.
“When the pimp's in the crib ma Drop it like it's hot Drop it like it's hot Drop it like it's hot When the pigs try to get at you Park it like it's hot Park it like it's hot Park it like it's hot And if a n*gga get a attitude Pop it like it's hot Pop it like it's hot Pop it like it's hot I got the Rollie on my arm and I'm pouring Chandon And I roll the best weed 'cause I got it going on”
On a more serious note, why is he a torch bearer? It seems like the Olympics is watering itself down to cheap entertainment.
He must of qualified with his 34 second 200m time trial. If they are going to get celebrities on the opening stage then they have to prove that they can run and have the fitness to hold Bekele's marathon pace for a minute

Beautiful lyrics that are so pure and propagandized a generation into depravity and thinking that criminal violence is cool.
Snoop Dog's only contribution to society has been spreading vulgarity, violence, lawlessness, misogyny, drug usage, etc. and yet he is celebrated and rewarded for it. His dark days may be over, but they're the only reason he rose to stardom. The companies that hire him would fire any other employee for drunkenly uttering in secret what Snoop Dog "sang" for decades. Plus, how does he relate to athletics?
Snoop will light a fat blunt with the Olympic torch
This is funny but I don't doubt it. The temptation would just be too great. If you had the olympic torch in your hand and you're a prolific weed smoker, how could you not do something so epic?

Criminal violence is cool. That's why it's so easy to make a song about how cool you are for smoking weed and shooting cops. There's a reason no one makes songs about how cool it is to make 6 figures working an office job and running a 16:30 5k, and it's because that's not cool.
Also to OP: literally everyone knows "drop it like its hot". It's tiktok nowadays.

lmao I think it is hilarious how he is such a family friendly icon today. I think I found out he had a murder case from an old Dave Chappelle bit when I was like 15 and I was like "There's literally no way Snoop Dogg could've killed someone, he was on a Big Time Rush song".
From a cultural standpoint, Snoop Dogg is like your uncle with a crazy past who just smokes weed and does his thing now. He just pops up in an occasional song/commercial/game/movie/performance/etc, everyone knows him for smoking weed and rapping, and no one ever brings up that he almost certainly killed someone, if not more than someone.
Also, Snoop Dogg has made plenty of contributions of society. He made some absolutely classic music, being one of the founders of G funk, and he has helped more companies/artists promote themselves than you could ever dream of. He'll also draw more eyes to the sport of T&F in the next 2 weeks than you will in your entire life.

From Wikipedia:
"Snoop Dogg is a decorated performer in the music industry, but he also has a passion for football and helping young people. That's why he started the Snoop Youth Football League with the intention of keeping at-risk kids off of the streets and focused on achieving their goals. This docuseries follows the Grammy-nominated rapper as he coaches a team in the league, helping to mentor his players in life while teaching them how to succeed on the gridiron."
Snoop is using his time and money to as many kids from going through the childhood he went through. That flew under the radar for awhile until the Coach Snoop docuseries.
One of those kids? CJ Stroud. So there's that.

"Criminal violence is cool"??? What an awful take. There's plenty of cool things to sing about that don't include violence, no excuse for this crap.
