If it IS difficult, that could be indicative of being predisposed to addiction issues. For me, it's easy to go out to dinner/wedding/partying and not have a drink. But I've seen others who run the risk of a bender if they have just 1.

Alcohol is literally poison. Now having said that, I still enjoy it. But if I were Josh Kerr and going for Olympic glory, I would be off the sauce for more than 3 months. He shouldn’t drink at all for the entire year, this is his job and potentially his ONE chance to win gold. He can drink for the rest of his life if he wants.
