27 participants in women's Olympics 10000. Got a guess where Valby will finish? My guess is top 10. Being accustomed to Gainesville weather should benefit her. Paris is most likely going to be hot and humid.

10th would be fantastic for her. I will guess something like 15th. I would favor both Americans, all of the ETH and KEN team, Hassan, Keith, 1-2 of the Ugandans and a few others over her.
She could eliminate poverty, hunger, and win the Nobel Peace Prize and some turds would drag her for using ARC trainers and not running high mileage while accusing her of doping. That’s the kind of sh*tbirds that LRC actively encourages to generate clicks.
I’ve broken the athletes down into two tiers, listed with their Season Best and Personal Best times (SB/PB):

No matter what place, she has already had one of the most spectacular years of Running by a man or woman in NCAA history. Making it to the Olympics is a bonus at such a young age for a distance runner for the U.S.A.

I agree that 10th-15th is the most likely range. In the last two world championships and the last Olympics, all three American women finished in the top 15. Natosha Rogers finished 14th last year in Budapest.

The hotter it is, the better her chances. People ahead will redline and drop out.
If guess 10-12 is the best we could hope for, but I’ll be cheering her and the other Americans on! Go Gators 🐊
