The fastest she could possibly run is 30:30, so how can she possibly receive any attention? If the fastest runners go out at 30:00 pace, she’ll never even appear on the screen. She’s like a 27:50 runner in the men’s race.
On paper, Valby is a minute plus away from the top E. Africans. However, at an OG final, you never know what the pace will be. Everyone thought the 2023 WCs would be sub 30, but they jogged the first few miles and sprinted the last kilometer. Valby's closing speed was impressive at the trials. Not nearly what she needs to keep up with the E. Africans. But she could have a chance to be in the mix in a tactical race. If the E. Africans go for a sub 30 race, Valby will not be a factor.
At the PreClassic, I think the top East Africans closed in ~62.x.
Last I checked, it appeared Keith was doing just the 5, Battocletti was doing both the 5 & 10, and DvanES is doing just the 5. Can someone please clarify this?
