Many of these gymnasts were physically, mentally, and sexually abused by their doctors and coaches. It's not only Nasser who's the subject of horror stories..

And their job is about a million times harder than track athletes.

Personally, I'd love to see Fred Kerley or Christian Coleman with a therapy dog. But instead we got stuck with Snoop Dogg at the trials.

So you don't think competing for a Olympic medal in women's gymnastic is stressful? Especially when you are out there on your own performing a difficult routine with millions watching and even the slightest mistep can knock someone out of the competition.

I know plenty of track athletes that see a sports psychologist to help manage stress. Having a team dog is a lot cheaper and a lot more fun.

Women's gymnastics has a long history of physical amd emotional abuse of very young girls and young women. Between the coaches and overly involved sports parents they need all the comfort they can get.

If counseling is requisite to get through the week, then one should be prioritizing solving their mental health issues rather than being an Olympic athlete.
