I can’t vouch for his coaching, though he did have a lot success. I worked with him at a summer running camp and he was a really good guy with campers, college counselors and fellow coaches.
RIP to such a legend. I had nothing but the greatest respect to him. His death is tragic but he lived a full life and contributed to the sport in ways I will always be envious of.
Classy guy.
Sorry to hear this news. Ran against his high school athletes when he coached at Woodbridge High School in Virginia in the mid 80's.
RIP to a fellow Southwestern alumn and Kansas coaching legend. Sad to hear.
