I also thought Rowe would be selected but Dever was 2nd in the trials and is automatic with the standard.

They have been so unsupportive of him. Didn’t select him for the Euros, he has difficulty getting in to races to show his form/ get the Olympic standard.

If they are looking to inspire the next generation of athletes then they are failing miserably. Bunch of idiots.

Why is Dever selected for the 10,000 when he doesn't have the standard? Don't get me wrong, 100% agree he should be, but then UKA have not selected Nuttall or Norman when they are both less than a second off their respective standards?!

Bianca Williams over Amy Hunt is one of the most baffling decisions i've seen UKA make in a while. Who did Hunt piss off?

The surprises that USOT spring are unfortunate sometimes but it's far better than needing to deal with selection committee BS like this.

Atkin over Rowe is stupid. He'll probably DNF is history is anything to go by. Atkin has had chance after chance and failed to deliver. And Rowe ran the trials and finished third.

I’m confused about Amy Hunt. Didn’t she get silver at the Champs? And she performed well in the Euros. Does she not have the standard? I haven’t been that focused on the sprint distances.

Top 2 go. Third is discretionary- all world champs medallista from last year get a pass. Then they look at recent form/injury history and clearly make it up as they go along.’

The most annoying thing is not sending athletes who are a fraction off the standard but would be accepted/have an invite in world rankings. Why they do this I don’t know. Maybe money.
