Just got a text massage that the race is now Black status and no more official results will be recorded.

What is Black Status?

I was in the group working the runner. He was conscious and breathing when we loaded him on to the stretcher for transport. Cardiac output was stopped for only a short time before we got him back. I don’t have any more information on him once he left the scene.

The first race I attended that had a guy go down was back in the early 1980s... at a local Heart Run 10k celebrating February as Heart month.

It's sooo risky to race hard in these conditions. The body just cooks itself from the inside out, and with near maximum humidity there's no way for it to cool itself. This is not surprising unfortunately. This summer has already been the worst on record and it's just getting started.
