You just realized that the national champs are a powerhouse? Losing Tuohy weakens the team. It doesn't strengthen it. Most teams tout Losing nobody or nonscoring runners.

I'm so, so happy to read this. This choice will allow her to build on all her training and accomplishments thus far, while giving her a new kind of structure and support system. These could be what push her to the next level.

She'll have a bit of an unusual start, since presumably she'll have to miss training camp (unless it's earlier) to run U20 Worlds. But she'll have a teammate even there in Angelina Napoleon.

This had been in the works for several months. It just took a while for the announcement.

Honest question: What do you mean by, "in the works?" Presumably, she is getting a full ride. What has to be worked out? I am asking b/c I was a scholarship athlete waaaaaaaay back in the 90s and if we got an offer for a full ride, we either said "yes" or "no." What else do they work out these days? Clearly I am out of the loop...

Any relation to Julie or Mary (who each went to NC State)?

She doesn't seem like the type of person to promote herself on instagram, but athletes in other sports look for NIL deals as well which is almost certainly what he's referring to.

Doesn't "emerging elites" say "train with the best", who they define as sub 2:20 800 / sub 5:20 female milers?
