the question isn't why/how has this happened, but instead why are we getting yet another video from Philly about this. Clearly struggling for content and circling the same video ideas over and over because she knows how trendy it is to be 'vulnerable' now for influencers & sure enough the comment section has gobbled it up, but missing the point of what she's said and more focused on talking about themselves. When she's not racing (well) and not with a team the ideas suffer. Will be interested to see if she actually releases the video of her terrible 3000m she just did this weekend.
I would point out the video is intentionally clickbaity, it's not that she hasn't had her period due to health reasons (like in the past from overtraining/ED's/RED-S etc), but because she's been choosing to stay on the same contraception which stops her from having one.
1) that's a very common side effect
2) that's intentionally misleading the audience with the title
3) it's a terrible idea and often leads to bone stress injuries; you're supposed to come off that contraception periodically (pardon the pun) to allow for a period and allow your hormones to balance properly otherwise it directly impacts bone density
I say this as someone who lived with 2 female athletes who between them had 3x stress-fractures, so I'm not just theorising here
I agree that its a bit "Click Bate" and i find the person so unwatchable i stopped following their feed on Insta and Youtube.
However I do think we need a deep rethink in where we are going with womens sport. It does appear that most sports science studies are done on men. Football boots are designed with Male feet in mind and thus there is a high percentage of females getting ured due to wearing boots incorrectly designed for them.
Training during your period i dont believe has been fully into leading to numerous injuries and issues that go on further in life. As a father it scares me sometimesmy daughter is training because i dont feel fully armed with the right information and i hope this changes soon.
But by god is she annoying
70% of endurance athletes suffer with it. It is the norm even though it is not healthy.
Those period things seem very messy and inconvenient. Good on them for finding a way around of them.
just imagine how much she saved not having to spend on tampons, pads, cups, mensttual discs, period underwear...

Sports scientists just knew that one day "women's" sports would become more and more dominated by men, so they figured there was no point figuring out how to design football boots for women's feet, etc. etc. etc.
