I'm not American but it seems absurd to hold the trials in a city with ~180k population when track isn't a particularly popular sport. Stick it in New York.

It’s embarrassing. The meet is in fussing with the rounds and the stands are empty. Typical track turnout. The attendance will be the largest the last two days but unfortunately this is a week long event and it is extremely weak!!

My coaches hate Nike/TTUSA/USATF for having one Nike employee in Shanhai post on Instagram sourcing from hundreds of meet volunteer writers, iphones, etc. from Hayward Field. Before 2023 we used to have hundreds of wonderful OGs, retired HS coaches, civil servants post from hundreds of handles on instagram. The youngsters at Nike/TTUJSA/USATF really suck as writers, TV cameramen, snap shooters, interviewers, announcers.
