They added it would be "extremely rare" to test positive for trenbolone by consuming contaminated meat.

Wow. This statement from WADA says it all. Given the case in China, and now this, we possibly could go into a free for all environment...

Oh-oh...

In China, they are thinking the same:

There is no such thing as an independent arbitrator in USA, is there?

Given the source of contamination is tainted meat, perhaps they meant "independent abbotoir" :-)

Reuters also has this:

WADA accused Tygart of a double standard for demanding sanctions on Chinese athletes while clearing an American athlete under similar contamination scenarios.

And let's not forget that the Wilson case is even worse: no arbitrator, and no contamination found, but USADA "cleared" her.

Add the courtesy calls for Coleman, the leniency for Rollins, and the "inability" to catch roider Shelburrito, and the picture couldn't be clearer: Tygart needs to go.

China has athletes with ZERO clout, they should be banned from the sport for that fact alone. How do you test positive for PEDs without having a drop of clout???

These cases are incomparable for many other reasons... Knighton didn't get contaminated through air vents.

Somebody should teach WADA the rules:

Russian: guilty as hell

Chinese: likely guilty but allowed to get away coz they have good GDP

African: likely guilty

Black from white-majority countries: probably not guilty

White: not guilty being of the purest conscience

The Wilson case was not worse. It was weird. It involved a little known drug called Zeranol, a drug approved for livestock in the U.S. to help cattle gain weight faster. The European Union banned it use in cattle because of it’s potential to cause cancer in humans. In humans, it stimulates the growth of breast cancer cells. It’s banned by WADA because since it aids muscle growth in cows, it’s “presumed” it could do the same in humans.

But not many people were aware of people (maybe some bodybuilders) and following the Wilson case the USADA got so many questions from other athletes and media that they had to issue a FAQ to explain it and to help alleviate fears about the food supply.

Below is information from the 2017 news release on the investigation USADA conducted.

“During its investigation into the circumstances that led to the positive test, USADA gathered evidence from Wilson, which included reviewing her dietary habits and food purchase receipts. USADA also took into consideration laboratory reports demonstrating low parts per billion concentrations of the prohibited substance in her urine, as well as the fact that she tested negative one week prior. USADA further relied on reports from multiple independent experts on zeranol in the food supply and environment, including the use of zeranol as a legal growth promotant in beef cattle in the U.S.”

I know. It was worse in the sense I mentioned: a) no arbitrator, and b) the zeranol was NOT found in the beef, and c) USADA unilaterally decided to not ban her.

I ate a contaminated cow once. I was exhonerated. But the cow was disqualified.

So in other words, according to USADAs own words the Trenbologna contamination is highly unlikely to have come from meat, yet Mr Knighton is cleared to compete. Tell us again why this process is trustworthy?

Even though Tren may be very rare to get from meat, if it’s a 1/1000 chance of coming up positive you’d only need to eat 1000 steaks for there to be a 50% chance of showing up. Even if it’s 1/10000 there’s still a good chance you’d get a false positive at some point.
