This Knighton news led me to the USADA sanction list:
Near the top there's a sanction that must have occured on the 15th or 16th of April this year for a listed Track and Field athlete, under "Name Removed" who tested positive for Ostarine but was cleared under No Fault or Negligence. I have some questions:
a) Why name removed? b) Why was Erriyon Knighton's case not "Name Removed"? c) Who was it?
A list of all anti-doping rule violations / sanctions issued by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in its history. Includes athlete & coach sanctions.
Anyone with "No Fault or Negligence" has had their name removed. There are multiple occurrences.
I see this now. So why did Erriyon not get the same treatment? Did his team choose to publicise it?
Not sure. We know Erriyon went to arbitration. Perhaps the others had a different process? Not sure why his team would choose to release this information, unless they knew it was going to be leaked. Most assumed he was injured.
There is a long history of athletes paying to avoid penalty and/or paying to keep their names from going public. The outcome can vary in from, from the complete whitewashing of an incident to a redacted name. This system is how and why people like Paul Green exist in the track and field orbit.

Based on the presumed timeline of april 15th or 16th there were 3 major meets going on that involved US athletes: Tom Jones memorial, Boston Marathon, and Bryan Clay. Is there anyone high-profile who ran at Boston who fell off the face of the earth afterwards?
Also, how do you get cleared of using Ostarine? It's literally a synthetic SARM.

So bottom line is Erriyon Knighton tested positive for a banned anabolic drug and was cleared but poor Issam Asinga ate some tainted gummies but he has been banned with impunity for 4 solid years. Yah, I got it.

I've practically solved the case. The "name removed" is someone connected to Jaron Flournoy since this is the next ban in the USADA list also from April 2024. The "name removed" must have tested positive for Ostarine and then snitched on Jaron Flournoy as the source. Even more stupid is that the USADA was only able to ban Flournoy for buying Ostarine online, not because he actually tested positive for it while competing.
"This type of information, specifically information stemming from the positive test of another athlete, led USADA to discover that Flournoy purchased ostarine online, and the ostarine was delivered in December 2022. Although Flourney also used the prohibited substance, his use occurred after his membership with USA Track & Field expired, at which time he was not subject to the anti-doping rules."
Found the removed USADA press release naming who the "name removed" is. It is indeed a training partner of Jaron Flournoy's, Aldrich Bailey Jr.
The USADA press release is even more stupid and infuriating once you read it and how the USADA buys this as "accidental". USADA believe their excuse that Bailey got contaminated with Ostarine because Flournoy sweated into a couple neoprene hamstring sleeves and then Bailey borrowed them at a later date.
