Lananna did it at Dartmouth with no scholarships. He did it at Stanford with scholarships. He did it at Oregon with every possible resource and now he did it in the UIL era at UVa.

UVA men at NCAA's: 5 first team All-American, 3 honorable mention, 1 national champion, and 1 runner-up. Overall 8th place finish and throw in and ACC title. MidD/distance heavy.
Cohen going from 1:48 to a sub 1:45 guy at UVA is mighty impressive. People hate on Lannana but never doubt the man's ability to put together a competitive squad.
He's the Head Coach, he's responsible for the entire team. I first met Coach Lananna when he,was coaching at CW Post. He really isn't a bad person, but he is very ambitious and takes himself very seriously.
Lananna is the best. I live in Eugene and saw what he did for the program at Oregon. He was a great cheerleader as well as a coach. Since his departure the program has suffered. He is sorely missed. I wish him all the best,

You either coach someone or you don’t and Vin didn’t coach the 800m. Maybe let’s give Vin credit for the shot put also

No all programs hand their 800m runners to distance coaches. Vin is a figure head not a coach. He had the Powells do all the coaching at Oregon and so on. Vin’s negative reputation comes from the knife he uses to stab everyone in the back. His history of losing jobs is a prime example of that. I don’t think the going back and forth of Vin can coach is the point. He doesn’t do much coaching now and didn’t at Oregon. Almost every other word out of his mouth is a lie and that’s what got him in deep water at Nike / Oregon.

What a clueless troll you are. Vin does all the coaching personally of his 800/1500 guys. You would know if you had any real knowledge of UVAs program. What a loser you must be on here bashing a legend like Vin after his program has a bit of success.
