The West 1500m was absolutely loaded. Spencer, Houser, Green, Wascom were all solid. Leo Young got in as a time qualifier from a fast heat, but 6th or 7th place. Oregon did well to get all three of their guys. Their guy who beat Harrison was a 1:48 guy as well, but impressively dropped two seconds from his best Oregon result to run 3:40 in the heat (Tomas Pelfrey).
Seems like Sahlman scratched from the 800 and Nico scratched from the 800 & 1500. Are they both going all in for the 1500 ( Sahlman ) and 5,000 ( Nico )?
Why? They didn't declare so there were full 48 man fields.
My bad. Thought they scratched today, since they mentioned it during the meet. Technically that would have been a DNS. All good.
during the east region 10000 the announcer kept name dropping Nico Young as the one to beat at nationals. after the 5th time he mentioned Nico he finally stopped - I guess someone whispered to him Nico wasn't running the 10000.

Unfortunately the 26:52 guy isn't available but we're bringing the 26:53 guy.

It's 12:35 am Thursday in Fayettenam, and the third flight of the men's hammer hasn't started warmups.
