I put this up as QOD earlier today:
“I don’t know Jakob, so it’s hard to get a gauge on if he’s trying to get in Josh’s head or does he [just] speak candidly…I’m a big [professional] fighting fan, so for me to see trash talk, it doesn’t make me think less of somebody else. I kind of like when Noah Lyles and Coleman are going at each other a little bit. I think those are good things for the sport. And I think Josh said it well: they both want the same thing.”
‒Josh Kerr's coach Danny Mackey of the Brooks Beasts, saying he doesn't mind the trash talking that has been going on between Kerr and Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who will race for the first time since Worlds on Saturday at the Pre Classic.
What do you think? I think initially there was zero gamesmanship. Jakob was just being candid about being sick and then wehn the press asked if he really wanted revenge against Kerr, he said the equivlaent of "No, if I didn't win, someone else had to."
Then Josh took offense to that and Jakob has responded candidly to Josh taking offense to it. I don't really think he's doing it to screw with Josh although I think it's changed a bit after Josh responded.
