East Regional throwing events just ended a weather delay. Hammer was supposed to be at 10:00 and Javelin at 12:00; both are just getting ready to start. Possible thunderstorms coming in around 6:00 (running events are scheduled to start at 5:00).

I see there are supposed to be thunderstorms in AK everyday for the next several days. Its going to be a tough schedule out west. Everything may have to be well after dark due to weather issues

Those look to be the adjusted times according to the schedule
Are these races being streamed anywhere? Espn+?
Defending HT champ Kenny Ikeji (Harvard) has fouled his first 2 attempts in the East Prelim, but managed to get a good enough mark on his final attempt. It would have been very disappointing if he missed advancing.

At 301 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles southeast of Veterans Park, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
The live results website at 3:45pm ET says the East Prelim events are "warming up" (javelin and PV) after being on weather delay for about an hour

10000m underway in the East
Easy win for Kiprop. Little-known EKU senior Nikodem Dworczak impressed. Ran steady at the very back as the pack accordioned early, then worked his way forward, always near the rail and nicely tucked in on a very gusty evening. Tactically perfect. Hofstra's Abraham Longosiwa did too much work up front, delivered several surges to little effect and paid the price. A rough night for the Crimson. Maybe a touch of added pressure on Blanks to set things right on Fri.
The facility really cleared out after the M 200. Aside from a few scattered, unaffiliated fans like myself, it seemed like the thin crowd that remained was composed entirely of parents, coaches clutching stopwatches and cheering teammates with one eye on the race and another on their phones. We'll see if tomorrow night's affair is any different.
FYI - schedule has moved up due to the weather conditions predicted for around sunset.
Running events now start at 3pm [for distance minded fans: 3:30pm - 1500m; 4:50pm - 800m; 6:10pm - 10k). Hammer still kicks off the field event portion at 10am, but javelin has moved up to 11:30am, PV at noon, LJ at 3pm, and SP at 3:30pm.
