As an earlier poster in this thread pointed out, this is what's wrong's with what's left of "journalism" nowadays. Even if the author knows zero about the subject he was writing about -which is the case here- a quick online search taking all of a minute or so would have told him that Uhl-Leavitt is a George Santos-style fabulist. But he didn't even bother to do that minimum-effort level of fact-checking, and wound up publishing what was essentially an advert for a scammer. He should be embarrassed, and so should his editor for letting this drek get by. Any scorn and ridicule they get for that on these boards and elsewhere is richly deserved.
I'm also not sure why the the article about Uhl-Leavitt in runningmagazine.ca has a sub-head -"Is she racing for gold, or just raking it in?"- that makes it seem as if her fraudulence is something that's up for debate.
