I'm from Michigan, he was a clear big talent in high school. He was super undertrained. Was a basketball player so this is his first full year running. He also ran about 15:15 in cross country. Very impressive talent.

sully is a pretty bad coach otherwise though. michigan routinely gets the best in state talent every year and lights it on fire. 99% of em dont pan out or maybe by their last season as 6th years run a mediocre 8:48 steeple (fake, cop-out event unless you're elite) and celebrate. sully should be gone.

The Hanson Coaching Tree has many branches. Not only in Michigan but throughout the country.

Untrained 15:15 xc / 1:50 is a fairer HS profile.

I had also heard Trent was a baseball player in hs. He definitely had a great first year of running only training. Congrats to him. I am excited to see what the future holds.

As for Sully, I think he has a way to train and it seems to work for a lot of kids. I respect that he sticks with kids and isn't out there scouring the portal for 23-year old replacements. He's faithful to a fault. Kids get injured. School can be tough (esp UM).

I mean look at Tom Brady and Nick Foster. They did well. Some of the others guys struggled but my understanding was there a few injuries this season. Miles Brown has struggled with consistency but he's also coming back from a serious leg injury. Camden Law has a good year as a freshman, as did Nathan Lopez before he was injured. The sophomore class has improved as well.

Looking at these 1500 results; you wonder if Wisconsin had any runners there ?
