Ever since Vin got hired at UVA, there have been people taking repeated potshots at him, saying he's too old and will never be successful. I"ve repeatedly posted on there - hey it's ok to not like Vin, that's fine - but to doubt him is insane.
Check the scoreboard haters, UVA just won their first ACC men's team title since 2009. Duke women also won.
Congratulations to the Virginia Cavaliers for winning the ACC men’s outdoor track and field championship! Yet another championship in the legendary career of Coach Vin Lananna!

The lack of comments in this thread is amusing. If Virginia lost, the haters would be having a field day here. But since Virginia won, the thread is crickets. I love it!
USATF fired his staff at the Indy office. Vin is the President of himself, i.e. 1 person. USATF didn't invite Vin to USA Cross, USA MOT, nor USATF Indoors.

Great team effort. Vin proving the haters wrong once again.
How does this prove anything ? Vin barely coaches now and he’s even more of a jerk then he was in the 90’s. I don’t think winning a men’s ACC title gives him anything to brag about. He’s still a jerk and for good reason

I don’t see where UVA has ever won an acc outdoor title before now. FSU took it in 09.
This article says they tied with FSU in 09. This is their first outright win in program history.
ATLANTA, GA. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams closed out a thrilling final day of competition at the 2024 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in which the Virginia men won the first men’s team title outright in program history with 107 points while the women’s team tied for third place with 74 points.
The Virginia men won the ACC Championship for the first time in program history to beat out rival Virginia by 4.67 points. The meet came down to the final event, the 4x400m relay. Heading into the relay, the Cavaliers were in first place with 104 points just ahead of North Carolina at 100 points, Florida State at 95 points and Virginia Tech at 92.33 points. The Virginia quartet of Jaden Lyons, Alex Sherman, Gage Gose and Evans White IV solidified the team title earning three points by finishing sixth in a season-best time of 3:08.46. While Virginia Tech won the relay in 3:03.35, it was not enough as the Hokies as Virginia scored a total 107 points to Virginia Tech’s 102. Virginia has never won a men’s team title outright as the team tied with Florida State in 2009 with 141 points. The Cavaliers have finished in the top-three many times, this marks the first men’s team title in program history and the first in the Head Coach Vin Lananna era.

The standout performers were the Duke women sprinters (4x100 relay and 4 x 400m relay, master performances) and the UNC men's distance (10k, 5k, 1500m). I'm disappointed Notre Dame didn't do better.
Lauren Tolbert of Duke: she started college as a 800m runner, but yesterday she won the 400m at ACC, plus anchored the 4x400 to victory. who does that? Plus, if Amina Matoog was healthy, Duke women would've won by even more.
