On one hand the story of his life and how he ended up being able (no pun intended) to eventually run in a summer Olympics as an amputee runner I'm sure is fascinating.
On the other hand the guy had severe mental health issues (and not the BS "mental health" issues many athletes mistake for sports psychology weaknesses) and gunned down his girlfriend through a locked toilet door Tony Montana styles.
I think the latter might steer me away from that watch - but thanks for the heads up and GREAT handle name btw :D
He never has to worry about achilles tendinitis, calf strains, shin splints and gets to stay in a million dollar mansion rent free. Oscar is very lucky.
It's the middle of the night, she is in the toilet and it takes him 8 seconds to waddle on his stumps to the bathroom as he is yelling "I've got a gun get out of my house" - but apparently she doesn't hear him and he ends up pumping multiple bullets into a closed door she is sitting on the can behind. Also, the first bullet wounds were found to not be fatal - hitting her in the shoulder and arm but apparently this wasn't enough her to scream "Oscar stop, it's me the woman you love and not a pesky intruder".
Yeah sure.
He murdered her in cold blood - it's hard to believe that he only served 8 years and 6 months for that. Simply incredible.
Framed? You must know much about the situation. He admitted to shooting her right away but claimed he thought it was an intruder in his house.
It's even more absurd than OJ.

Why do some people in society celebrate awful criminals? And make documentaries? And interview them?
OJ, Oscar, Tonya……
it’s messed up that there are films and documentaries that tell the story from their point of view and the very act itself of producing media about them makes them celebrities and likable.
It’s kinda like a war movie, even if the war movie on the surface tries to say “oh war is bad,” the fact that there are famous actors and dramatic music makes it ultimately glorious and sexy and cool.
as an alternative, if we told a story from the victim’s point of view, we would have a quite different sentiment towards the vile acts that were committed.
