He's entered in 5000m and 1500m. Good chance he just helps pace Colin to a 1500m Olympic Standard and then maybe jogs in the College Outdoor Nationals Standard himself.
Looks more likely that he's not going to do 10000m at nationals.

It would be better for Young to compete in the 1500m and Colin could qualify with a mile time at Pre. Can’t Young run his college qualifier at conference?

Sahlman is also is in the Waskom position from last eyar where he'd be likely to get in on ranking if he makes the team. Right now he has two high point total races (Bryan Clay, BU mile). With this, he'd add one more. Then you have NCAAs (bonus points), and the Trials (bonus points). If necessary he can always add a post-Trials race. I don't foresee him having an issue at all.
EDIT: Waskom had to chase because his fast mile indoors UW counted as outdoors (fewer points), Bryan Clay was 2 seconds slower than Sahlman this year, and NCAAs was glacially slow.

Pre Classic conflicts with West First Round for NCAA. Technically Sahlman could do his events Wednesday and Friday and then fly out to Pre for Saturday but it's a pretty tight schedule, and he's going to be gassed after potentially running 2 800m and 2 1500m heats. Not going to run a very good mile after all that.
More likely he skips Pre this year and focuses on winning his first NCAA title.
Maybe Nico skips NCAA's entirely and runs the Mile at Pre?

LA Grand Prix? It's the weekend in between Conferences and Regionals, and the 1500/5000 fields are loaded...

Don't forget he gets an altitude boost for the 4900' Montana State track. ~23 seconds in the 5000 and ~5 seconds in the 1500.
