here is a suggestion. Either eliminate all threads "***** goes home devastated" or make them registered users only.

Two suggestions.

1. Ban posting from common VPNs, since this is used to get around bans.

2. Ban registering emails with a '+' sign, as this is used by trolls to circumvent the one-account-per-email, and require the email to be confirmed before the account is valid.

Did you purposely put your 2 hour window during the workday in America in order to cut down on the feedback and the need to answer questions?

That is wonderful.

Why was the 8 page thread "what are the odds NP and other top HS athletes are doping" deleted for being "factually incorrect"? It was asking a question - not stating a fact - and we all know the % of top HS athletes doping is not 0%.

And when you see someone progress by 3 minutes in the 5k in one year as the most blatant likely example, there are many questions to be asked. Or other obvious ones

1. Ban the most egregious trolls like Armstronglivs and rekrunner.

2. At minimum, restrict their posting to something reasonable like 2 - 3 posts per day and thread or 2 - 3 posts per page so they don't take over every doping thread by endlessly repeating the same nonsense and trading insults.

Why do the mods hate BBC and blues?

Moderation should be faster at deleting egregious threads. It is harmful to let them persist sometimes for hours before a moderator gets to deleting them. And the fact that they persist for as long as they do only encourages offenders to post them.

Some of the leftist mods are too trigger-happy to delete posts that make the Democrat party look bad but other than that, moderation is good enough

Ban threads about moderation, they serve zero purpose, it's your website and you'll do what you want to do anyway, just as I would if it was mine.

Nothing's changed in over 20 years regarding moderation and nothing will change over the next 20 years.

I’d suggest mergeing a few things into one megathread but that’s it - e.g. campus riots about Israel / Hamas but that’s it

There were two recent threads that were really bad and left unattended/unlocked for too long.

The first was the Frank Csorba thread which almost instantly turned into a vaccine thread.

The second was the Cranny/Team Boss thread which had one loco poster saying some pretty heinous things.

What can we do to get these things locked/removed, etc. quicker?

Also, there was a thread started a few weeks ago that had a list of all the US athletes who had an Olympic qualifying mark. There were requests to make that sticky at the top of the forum. It was a great resource and I can't find a similar list anywhere. Can we get that going somewhere?

A comment and a question

The Allie O thread response and moderation I thought was great. Good to see all the likes and bad posts get ratio'd and quickly deleted.

Do the mods have the ability to change the category of some threads? I know a bunch are labeled running when they are political, could they be moved instead of deleted?

You guys given any more thought to your policy on "misgendering"?

When I post about XY DSD athletes like Semenya and Mboma and trans-indentified male athletes in women's and girls sports, I have to waste time and energy figuring out how to make my point without running afoul of the rules and still not calling males "she/her."

I'm not asking for the right to be rude and disrespectful of people. It's just that it's hard to stick up for girls' and women's hard-won rights whilst having to use language that plays into and perpetuates the pretense that all the males who want into female sports and spaces are women/girls themselves and thus must be referred to as she/her.

We generally allow doping speculation but do limit it when it comes to minors.

As for the reasons cited a lot of times that is just the reason the reporter selected. Then when we delete it it will show that reason even if we just deleted the whole thread because we feel like we don't need the discussion involving minors.
