Be precise and definitive.

Explain how you came up with the idea with Xiamen had 55,000 spectators and Suzhou had 45,000 spectators.
Be precise and definitive.
People in Oregon don't go to track meets in Summer. Got it?
Xiamen has a population of 5.2mm
Shanghai has a population of 25mm
Eugene has a population of 179K
Cool. Track is finally back.
There's a ton of Chinese people
Let's see, 1 billion Chinese with an authoritarian government.
How much were tickets in these respective venues? Was their good public transportation to the arena? Did fans need to spend a lot on travel and accomodations to view any of these events?
Amazing post. I did several posts last year showing you how few people live within driving distance of Eugene.
Where is the OP getting his ticket figures? It seemed to me that today's meet on tv had WAY BETTER attendance than last week. But I must admit I didn't really look to closely.
But it just seemed to me that today was full, last week not. Anyone else?
One theory I was wondering about while watching the meet is, "Does your social credit score get bumped up if you go to the meet?" I think in China you get ranked for doing 'good' things and 'bad thigs.' Like people in debt can't ride certain trains.
So does that app reward you for going to the local sporting event?
It's quite scary what's going on in CHina. It's literally Orwellian.
Seeing Chinese people being welded into their high rises and yelling out their windows in the cold, dark nights due to desperation, starvation and insanity, I really couldn't tell you what drives their "amazing" attendance for track and field meets. Maybe Eugene could learn a few things from China?
As others undoubtedly have already posted, Eugene is a backwater small town totally unsuitable for a world wide competition.
OTH, how many of the Chinese tickets were bought and distributed by the CCP party to loyal party leaders?
Location, location, location(.)
So this starts with "One theory I was wondering about", "I think", "My neighbor's aunt's friend's sister's hairdresser said that" and ends with the 'fact' that "it's literally Orwellian".
Quite astonishing even by rojo's high journalistic standards and reasoning.
So why is this getting downvotes? People don’t like hearing sarcastic truths about a brutal and evil government committing atrocities against common people?
I call bullsh1t that Xiamen was sold out. The stadium looked empty on the TV. Shuzou was better, but it was noticeable that they covered the entire top tier of seats. Which is not to excuse Eugene, it's a failure of a venue for elite athletics
Not to worry. When the Diamond League sold to Flotrack they did not include Eug due to poor TV viewership. I heard Mexico City will be the next location.
20 millimeters? Kelvin?
Man up and learn the units.
Eugene is a small town in the middle of nowhere
The DL had a meet held in NYC (20+ million) for about 5 years. How was the attendance? In 2016 it was replaced by Rabat.
