**Running History:**
Sophomore Track Season:
- Started with a 6:08 mile time trial, improved to 2:25, 5:27, and 11:25 by the end of the season, averaging around 25 miles per week.
- Summer after Sophomore Track:
- Ran inconsistently due to work at a summer camp, around 20-30 miles per week.
August:
- Appendectomy, two months off from running.
Junior Cross Country Season:
- Started with no conditioning, improved from 19:30 to 17:52, averaging 40 miles per week.
Winter of Junior Year:
- Developed tendinitis, ran two indoor meets with a best time of 5:10.
Track Season of Junior Year:
- Injured, only ran around 30mpw and three races, with a best time of 5:01.
- Summer before Senior Year:
- Sick multiple times, inconsistent training.
- Cross Country of Senior Year:
- Sickness continued, gradually improved to a 17:05 race time.
Winter of Senior Year:
- Consistent training, indoor season went well with times improving from 4:52 to 4:43.
Track of Senior Year (current):
- Developed a stress reaction in shin, unable to run for three weeks.
**Observations and Theory:**
- Every injury occurs when hard intervals outweigh base mileage.
- Theory: Need more easy and aerobic running, fewer hard intervals.
**Current Situation and Plan:**
- Not part of a team, planning to train alone.
- Plan: Start with easy mileage and strides, gradually increase to 70-80 mpw over summer, adding doubles later. Aim for 100+ mpw by December, then reduce to 80-90mow and gradually add threshold running leading up to February. The. Add speed work leading into track season.
- Wondering if plan is reasonable or not.
