Imagine the outrage if there started being men's only track meets with big prize money. Or if women's events had less prize money than the men's events.

Heard of the NBA? NFL? NHL? Premier League? Are you under a rock or something?

If a woman is talented enough to compete in the NBA, she can. Moran
The wnba makes a net loss.
I don't know what your point is. All I was refuting is "Imagine the outrage... if women's events had less prize money than the men's events." They already have less prize money than the men's events

There are plenty of men's only events, Sparky.
You seem to be latently triggered about this but are doing a commendable job of suppressing your emotions.
I actually agree with On the other foot. Track and field and road racing generally do a really good job of ensuring sex equality because the events are integrated. I'm not totally against female-only events, but there's a risk of stoking resentment because we all know that people would not tolerate it if the tables were turned.
I'm glad someone with deep pockets is trying to create a new event.
Doing it for one sex makes is much more manageable from a financial standpoint.
There are a lot of structural problems with track and field that limit some of its growth (one of them ironically being anyone can create a new event), but generally I'm going to applaud someone with money putting it into the sport we love and trying new formats.
A mega post Olympic meet is a good place to start.
