We're pretending that 2:38 is a good marathon time?
In short, agree. He trains traditionally, rather than unconventionally, and has shown exponential gains. Videos are great, too. His Boston video showcased why Boston is special: The crowds. So many other YouTubers focused more themselves, and the atmosphere of the big race they enter isn't captured. He also BQed, unlike some others.
Are you talking about Yowana?
what is your best marathon time, keyboard warrior? It must be at least 20 minutes faster than 2:38 right?
Respect him but way too corny for me.
Seems like he could benefit from having some other hobbies as well. I get the vibe that his whole week would be ruined from one slightly bad workout or something
You realize you're talking about 80% of us here, right? lol
But I've liked his videos for the most part, and especially when you consider them relative to the other youtubers out there as far as quality. I will say if I have on criticism though, it'd be that's he's gotten a bit melodramatic in the last few. As if running at this level (mine included) is extremely meaningful in the grand scheme and deserves to be documented in such a reverential manner. In other words, he could stand to lighten up a bit.
Elizabeth Clor for the win.
TMADDDHASNE? They them r our fav !
Word, agree and pretty much exactly what I meant by 'corny' (and the rest of my post)

Anyway, Matt Choi FTW

Raced against him years back. Bit of a douche and pretty full of himself.
Take that with a grain of salt though since I think anyone running with their phone filming themselves is taking themselves too seriously.

This dude is so full of himself that this post is probably one of his team doing market research for himself.
My 5000 time is nearly 3 minutes better than his 5k time.
literally the worst one
who does he think he is
I liked him before he became just another influencer. Now I don't really watch any of us stuff. Advertising supplements and running gear and stuff is just lame.
This made me snort — just the most eloquent way to put how he/his content makes me feel. Like dude unless you’re doing something truly impressive, the production and drama around it is overkill. Running a 2:38 marathon or any non-elite race time is only noble if you just shut up and do the best you can do for yourself, which I know is hugely counter to this narrative where we get rewarded and validated by putting way too much of ourselves online and blah blah blah.
anyway I dislike him so, so much less than Matt Choi so it’s whatever
Yeah... I'm conflicted.
His videos have great production value but he's a professional videographer that has paid assistants filming his runs. That's a bit much for what he's doing.
He's shown impressive progress over the last 2 years ... but he's in his early /mid 30s.. and he's got a coach and pacers so its not exactly a DIY project.
The brick thing is just cheesy. We get it. You're training towards a goal. Spending a couple hundred dollars for a video prop is just lame
Finally, he needs to drop all association with Matt Fox immediately because, you know ..., and also there's the whole .....
I am a huge fan of Floberg. Personally I like the fact that he was a real person to me. If I wanted to find someone out there who runs sub 2:20 or sub 2:15, they are out there. But It's just really not applicable to me as a 2:58 marathoner. Thats how I got interested in him, is he struggled for years to even break 3hrs (As did I), and finally locked into a good plan/strategy/consistency.
I just ran my first Boston last week, and went to his shakeout run, and talked with him in person. Very genuine and good guy. I hope his success continues.
